Dr. Temidayo Akenroye is Cooper/Smith’s Special Adviser on Public Health Chains Supply initiatives. With more than a decade of experience supporting global health supply chain programs, Dr. Akenroye provides high-level, strategic guidance and technical expertise to strengthen and build capacity of the data use culture, amongst public sector decision makers. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in Supply Chain Management at the Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom.
Dr. Akenroye brings experience supporting programs throughout Africa. His technical experience includes: developing a framework and conducting a national maturity landscape assessment of public health supply chain systems in Kenya; designing, piloting and implementing procurement interventions to link smallholder farmers in Kenya, Mali and Ghana (a project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, through SNV, Netherlands Development Organization); and leading supply chain procurement activities for the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), including revenue and capital spend evaluations within medical or non-medical categories.
Dr. Akenroye is a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) and has made extensive contributions to research and policy developments in the fields of public procurement, data use in supply chain decision making, sustainable supply chains, and service innovation in healthcare. He was a visiting researcher at the Centre for Leading Innovation & Cooperation (CLIC) in HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, Germany, where he was involved in the research and implementation of open-innovation tools and strategies to improve the delivery of healthcare services for programs in the UK and Germany.
Dr. Akenroye has a PhD in Supply Chain Management from the University of Salford. He has been awarded two master’s degrees; one in Sustainability Leadership, from the prestigious University of Cambridge, and the other in Supply Chain & Logistics Management from the University of Salford.
His works have been published in international journals such as International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management; Journal of Enterprising Culture; Int. J. Procurement Management; International Journal of Business and Social Science; The Public Sector Innovation Journal; International Area Studies Review; International Journal of Project Organization and Management; Journal of Public Procurement.
