I am a Haitian medical doctor with more than 12 years of experience in health informatics and technical program management. I have worked in Haiti and with global partners to implement and coordinate national-scale projects involving Electronic Medical Record systems (EMRs), health infrastructure, Health Information Exchange (HIE), and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). I have strong communication skills and can effectively engage with policy makers, stakeholders, and technical experts. I have a Master of Science in Health Informatics and Bioinformatics from the University of Missouri and a background in family medicine.
Before joining Cooper/Smith, I played a key role in developing and implementing the first national digital health policy for Haiti. I also worked as a Senior M&E manager for Population Services International, where I designed and supervised M&E activities and systems for various health programs in challenging settings. I led the technical and implementation teams that created and deployed iSanté and OpenELIS, a custom EMR, LIS, and national HIE that served over 150 government healthcare sites in Haiti. The HIE enabled us to centralize patient records, exchange laboratory tests, and ensure continuity of care across the country, despite environmental constraints such as power loss and poor internet connectivity. I also managed the nationwide transition from this custom system to OpenMRS and OpenHIE, a project funded by USAID, the Global Fund, the CDC, and the Haitian MSPP.
On a personal note, I am married to a dentist and public health expert who graduated from NYU. She is very smart and knowledgeable, and I respect her opinions. We have two boys who are our pride and joy.
