Nongma Sawadogo is based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the National Public Health School of Burkina Faso. He specializes in reproductive and community health. He has worked for over 22 years in healthcare in Burkina Faso, including more than seven years for International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs).
At the Ministry of Health (MoH), he has gained wide field experience as he spent more than a decade working in multiple roles in several regions across the country. He focused more specifically on Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), health information system management, data analysis, databases design and management, and reporting. All these activities enabled him to gain insights on the health care system, from the community level all the way to the national level.
Working for Family Care International (FCI), Nongma implemented projects addressing sexual and reproductive health issues, which enabled him to gain additional experience in research and training, epidemiological surveillance, and advocacy. As Country Representative for FCI Program of Management Sciences for Health (MSH) in Burkina Faso, he led the engagement with MoH senior stakeholders, set-up partnership with other NGOs and international organizations, oversaw field activities, managed fundraising, and developed training curriculums.
Nongma joined Cooper/Smith in January 2020 as Project Manager. He supports the implementation of a project focusing on the National Health Information System (NHIS) and data use for decision making. He leads the engagement with the MoH. Nongma speaks English and French.
