Driven by passion in designing, building and implementing evidence-based digital health solutions that impact positively on the population, I have worked in Malawi on digital health for the past nine years where I have recognized how digital health can unleash capabilities to improve health outcomes.
With 18 years progressive experience in programme design and management and nine years full time experience in Health Management Information Systems strengthening using Medical Informatics approaches in Malawi, I have acquired knowledge and skills in designing, developing, managing and sustaining digital health systems in low resource settings.
I am an all-rounder with diverse experience having worked for nine years at Baobab Health Trust coordinating 20 digital health projects across Malawi in HIV and AIDs prevention, treatment and care, Non- Communicable Diseases, Civil Registration and Vital Statistics, Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response and Maternal and Child Health. I lead a team of engineers to roll out the implementation of the ART module in over 100 health facilities in the southern Region of Malawi.
Recently I gained substantial experience in clinical research coordination and management having worked with Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Trust for the past year.
Before joining Baobab Health Trust, I worked eight years for the Government of Malawi/ European Union Public Works Program on different positions from Administrator, to Coordinator on mainstreaming Cross Cutting issues on Gender, HIV and AIDs, women and youth empowerment and orphan care and later on I was promoted to Head the Administration Department.
I am a Social Scientist by qualification with medical informatics training from University of Kansas. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences and a Master’s in Development management from Ruhr University in Germany.
